Over the past decade we have been moving into a time of wondrous change. One of those changes has been a raising not only of our personal vibration but of the vibrational rate of the planet as a whole. As this increase has occurred, many new energies and systems of energetic healing, whose vibrational rate previously was too high for the majority of people to have access to, have begun to emerge. Once such system is Karuna Reiki®. The Karuna Reiki®i system was developed by William Rand founder of the International Center for Reiki Training. The system itself originated from Kathleen Milner's system of Reiki known as Tera-Mai. William took the symbols used by Kathleen meditated on them, their uses, and the attunement process. By altering the uses of certain symbols and as well as the attunement process as he was guided, the energy of the entire system shifted. The energy, as a whole, became very heart centered, hence the name Karuna, which is a Sanskrit word used in Hinduism, Buddhism, and Zen, which can be translated as meaning "compassionate action". I am often asked what the difference is between Karuna Reiki® and the traditional Usui system. In my opinion, the energy of the Karuna system seems much more definite and focused than that of the Usui system. This seems to be the opinion shared by most people who have either experienced a Karuna Reiki® session or had the opportunity to learn this system. The Karuna Reiki® system was trademarked by William to ensure that anyone teaching under this system would have to teach it according to guidelines. Because of this, the student wishing to learn Karuna Reiki®, can be certain of getting the same information regardless of who he or she learns from. While certain people will inevitably make better teachers than others, the information presented should be identical from one teacher to the next. The Karuna Reiki® course consists of two separate attunements, four master symbols, and a total of eight treatment symbols. The first Karuna symbol prepares the client for very deep healing and is extremely useful with past life issues. It helps release Karma and deeply seated issues that are often stored at the cellular level. The second symbol begins the deep healing by breaking up negative patterns we unconsciously use to insulate ourselves from the truth, thus helping us to shatter delusion and denial. The third symbol fills the person with unconditional love and restores balance. The fourth symbol is extremely grounding and is often used to complete the treatment by bringing the client back into the body and grounding the energy. These are just a few of the uses of the first four Karuna symbols. The Karuna II symbols are of an even higher vibration. They help us to connect with our higher-selves so that we may work on a deeper level. While they too have specific purposes, they allow for too much intuitive guidance to list their uses here. I truly believe this course to be beneficial for anyone who sincerely wants to practice Reiki or is just interested in furthering their spiritual growth. Enormous personal and spiritual growth are often realized as a result of this class. Profound healings are also often experienced due to the intensity of the energy that the students are exposed to. Many students begin having contact, or increased contact, with guides, angels, and beings of spirit immediately following this class. |
